Inside the KZ Engine Continued.......

From a recent parts acquisition, we had a brand new set of Andrews 2X cams for this engine. They have not been made for years, but are excellent street cams that require no cylinder head modification such as grinding to clear the lobes. Once installed, these cams are "degreed".....adjusted to open and close the valves at specific points in relation to crankshaft position. This procedure allows the engine builder to fine tune and adjust the point where peak horsepower will occur. This is essential in the installation of any non-stock cams in any engine, and can also greatly improve an engine's performance even if stock cams are used. Andrews 2X cams call for a "lobe center angle" of 106 degrees - the valves will be at their maximum lift 106 degrees from TDC.
